Roblox Error Code 279 usually appears with “Failed to connect to the Game” or ID=17. It means your device reached Roblox but could not complete the game-server connection. The cause may be Wi-Fi instability, a firewall, a browser extension, an outage, or a poor ISP route. Start with the simple checks below before changing advanced settings.
1. Check whether Roblox is down
Open the official Roblox status page before changing anything. If games, matchmaking, or authentication are degraded, Error 279 may affect many players. Wait for Roblox to resolve the incident instead of repeatedly reinstalling the app.
2. Restart Roblox and your network
